Of all the leafs defenseman the one I would like to see go most is Liles. (Excluding Komisarek of course)
Edit: Assuming the Leafs land Schultz, which is a huge assumption. |

Enstroms very good, but hes small.Bogo, stuart and byfuglien take alot of the rough minutes and make it easier for him to be so successful.
1. Yandle
2. Meszaros
3. Bouwmeester
Any of these 3 + schultz would make my summer |

"After the draft Burke suggested he was close to making a trade, but would not offer specifics. He did say that there was no way young defenceman Jake Gardiner would be moved by the Leafs.
"He’s not going anywhere," Burke said." |

Good blog, out of all the d-man you listed, I would like Franson the most. He's young, RFA, fits into the long term plans of EDM. If no Franson, then Meszaros or Sekera.

If EDM can get Yandle, sure, but we all know PHX will ask for one of the four kids. |

what about franson, jvr and a 2nd for one of them? |

Interesting list of available defensemen. If you're any of the mentioned teams, save maybe Vancouver (dumping Ballard), would you trade for Hemski, Gagner, Belanger or Pekham?
Answer: Wouldn't touch those with a stick.
I'll be impressed if some NHL callibre defense can be had for Edmonton's scraps (if they're not good enough for Edmonton, how can they be good enough for the 28 teams above them in the standings?) If Tambellini wants to get something done, he has to grow a pair and give up something decent. |

Probably true...but one can always hope/dream we could get something done with another package.
Also, god i wish we had horcoffs contract off the books.
Everytime i think of overpaying a big contract for a dman, i remember resigning the kids... and that we also have horcoffs bs deal to consider as well. |

Interesting offer, but I wouldn't take the 2nd, probably a upcoming prospect. EDM doesn't need anymore picks anymore other than their own picks of every year.

I personally do not believe EDM has to trade any of its four kids to get a d-man, it's just because teams will want to start a conversation there. I would seriously consider trading everyone other than Hall, Nuge, Eberle, and Yakupov. Everybody else, picks, prospects are up for grabs in my opinion. EDM should build around those four, not make more of the others part of the core or foundation. |

Horcoffs contract doesnt really hurt the team cap wise at all.

If we move Hall, Ebs, or Yak it better be for a franchise dman and nothing else.

probably gonna be boooo'ed like holmgren at the draft for this... but if the pens detemine they could get a suter or a carle... martin would be up for grabs... I know he is a booby prize... but you have the whole change of scenery blah blah blah... he was a potential olympian a couple of years back... and he seems motivated to prove he ain't a bust.. just sayin' ( I obviously have a vested interest in him going elsewhere, but anyone think he's worth a gamble?) he also would be had for cheap |
